2010 calendar of events

WPN as always has an exciting calendar of events planned, and we hope that we will see you along to many of them.

So far in 2010...

March - Celebration of International Women’s Day, and this year we were lucky enough to have Prue Digby, DPCD's Deputy Secretary for Planning and Local Government deliver to us a speech that Jenny Mikakos, Parliamentary Secretary for Planning, had prepared, as unfortunately Jenny was ill and unable to attend at the last minute. We thank Prue very much for stepping in at short notice, and to Jenny Mikakos' office for giving us the opportunity to host our breakfast in Parliament House. The date also offered us the opportunity to present the Rising Star Scholarship for 2010. It was a great event, and we also thank GTA for sponsoring the breakfast.

April - annual Urban Design Walk, ably led by Celestina Sagazio to places of 'Women's Melbourne'. The walk was well attended and enjoyed by all.

June - seminar jointly held with PIA's Social Planning chapter about Community Engagement. The speakers, which included 4 women speaking from different backgrounds in community engagement, provided some interesting insights into how we do and should engage with our communities.
